The project involved the reconfiguration of a redundant basement space to provide new teaching and learning places, creating spaces for individual and collaborative group study.

The Foster Court project integrates new ‘petal shaped’ desking around existing cast iron columns to create group study desks within a large open plan teaching space. Separate adjacent rooms bookable by students are clad with multi-coloured panels to be read as a new intervention within the space.

New floating ceilings conceal new services and contrast with the retained exposed wrought iron beams.
