The project involves the phased refurbishment of three existing stacked physics laboratories located in the centre of UCL’s Physics Bloomsbury Campus. The Physics Department linked to the Grade 1 Listed Wilkin’s building and involved applications for both Listed Building and Planning Consent.

The initial phase of refurbishment to be carried out over the summer period of 2012, involves the installation of new active chilled beams to provide heating, cooling and ventilation, contained within new floating raft ceiling located between existing structural beams, secondary glazing and a new flush detailed external wall lining. New benching will integrate computers and space for experiments.
