Paul Murphy Architects were appointed through an invited tender process for the reconfiguration and extension of this independent girl’s Catholic school, to create a three-form entry, for children between ages 3-18.
The school is located on a magnificent 4.8ha south facing site, which is designated as Metropolitan Open Land and the original former convent buildings are locally listed.
Our proposals involve a multi-phase approach which creates a new “atrium link block”, around which new teaching spaces are arranged, together with a new learning resource centre. This intervention will provide all of the growth needed in one phase, improve access to existing classrooms and provide a new heart to the school.
A new multi-purpose sports hall with changing facilities forms a second phase along with new drama facilities. The third phase involves the reconfiguration of the existing school to improve and rationalize existing teaching and staff spaces.
