As part of a new campus redevelopment commission, the new three storey teaching modules were designed to permit a future flexible sub-division of space into a variety of classroom sizes.

The modules are located separate from each other, to permit maximum natural light and ventilation to all rooms, and attached to a central spiral corridor which links this accommodation to the faculty offices and the new learning resource centre wings.

The success of in-built flexibility was later tested by the introduction of a nursing and medical faculty which extended the commission to include fit out designs for this academic use.
